Chef Craig made his own breakfast since age 8 and by age 13, he was planning, shopping for and cooking dinner for his parents once a week. As a young adult, he started right from the beginning by washing dishes in a restaurant and worked his way up to cooking with a wok in a Chinese restaurant, to doing deliveries, to eventually becoming the executive sous chef at one of Israel’s top ten restaurants, Shila in Tel Aviv. He has done a pastry chef’s course at a cooking school in Israel and is currently working as the pastry chef for the Facebook offices in Israel and Europe. He has lived in South Africa, Mauritius, Botswana and currently lives in Tel Aviv, Israel. This is his debut cookbook and he has designed and photographed the front cover for Johanna’s debut cookbook Have Food Will Travel.
Johanna is a retired scuba instructor always looking for a purpose. She worked in a library while becoming a holistic nutrition practitioner and more recently, a certified holistic cancer practitioner. In 2010 she enrolled in a recipe development contest with the Service Inspired Restaurant Corporation in Ontario, Canada. She won the contest with her bamboo steamed lobster and watercress salad. This earned her a dinner for six cooked by executive chef Michael Steh from Reds Bistro in Toronto, a mention in the Food & Wine magazine published by the Ontario liquor board and a cooking course for two at the Culinary Institute of America, where Chef John Ash was her instructor. She writes a food and travel blog at http://www.foodsoftheworld2017blog.com and has designed and developed their book’s website http://www.atasteofgorgeous.com. Johanna has lived in South Africa, Mauritius, Botswana, Aruba, Canada and currently lives in the USA with her husband. Her debut book Have Food Will Travel is available on Amazon and her new and improved second edition of above mentioned book is currently under construction. Her first holistic nutrition book is in progress under the possible title of An Alkaline Approach: 30 Days to Better Health and she is busy with her thesis for an advanced diploma in holistic nutrition. A Taste of Gorgeous is her second book.
